The incident indicated the Congress government’s apathy, he said while extending condolences to the bereaved family.
Varshita, a school topper and captain who had recently been felicitated by the District Collector, reportedly died by suicide in her hostel just an hour after calling her parents to complain about harassment by the principal and vice principal. She had allegedly exposed them for misappropriating school supplies.
In a statement, Rama Rao said Gurukul schools that once did exceedingly well had fallen apart in just two years. He pointed out that over 100 children have died in Gurukul schools in the last two years. He lashed out at the Congress government for showing zero empathy and zero accountability.
