H-FAST raids Seetarambagh chocolate unit over food safety violations

A joint team of H-FAST, Food Safety officials and Habeebnagar police raided a chocolate manufacturing unit in Seetarambagh and booked its owner. Officials alleged that chocolates were being sold without mandatory labels and seized suspected expired flavouring agents and machinery.

Hyderabad: A joint team of the Hyderabad Food Adulteration and Safety Task Force (H-FAST), Food Safety officials and Habeebnagar police raided a chocolate manufacturing unit at Seetarambagh and booked its owner for alleged violations of food safety regulations on Thursday.

Police said K Karthik was allegedly found manufacturing, repacking and selling chocolate products without mandatory labelling details such as manufacturing and expiry dates.


Officials also found suspected expired flavours and essences stored for use in production.

During the raid, authorities seized large quantities of chocolates, confectionery products, expired flavouring agents and chocolate-making machinery.

Habeebnagar police are investigating the case.
