Hyderabad: Haas Sports Cricket defeated Great Spinner by seven runs in the final to emerge champions in the inaugural Dr MV Sridhar Trophy under-16 cricket tournament, conducted by Incredible Sports Association, at English Willow Grounds, Shamirpet.

Haas put up a challenging 164 for 4 in 20 overs. Harsh and Rachit Rangari hit 39 apiece. Riding on a 56-ball 68 by Roshan, Great Spinner chased the target but fell short by runs.

Dr Pushpa, mother of late MV Sridhar, T Anjaiah chairman of Parijatha Home & Developers, and Vijay Mohan Raj, former Hyderabad Ranji opener, were guests of the honours on the final. Former sports journalist Valentine Wilson was felicitated on the occasion.

Nitin received the player of the tournament bat, sponsored by VVS Laxman.
