Siddipet: Early morning rains coupled with hailstorms lashed several parts of the Siddipet district on Thursday. The Nagnanur mandal was hit the worst as the agriculture and horticulture crops were severely damaged in the villages of Nanganur.

It started raining at 3.30 am when the farmers were in deep sleep. Agriculture, and horticulture officials visited the damaged fields at Palamakula and Nanganur mandals. BRS leader Japa Srikanth Reddy urged the government to carry out enumeration of the crops to compensate the farmers.

He said that the paddy farmers were worst hit as the standing crops have been flattened due to rains coupled with hailstorms. The farmers said that they were preparing to harvest the crop when the untimely rains dashed their hopes.
