Half-day holiday for GHMC schools as Telangana braces for heavy rains
The India Meteorological Department has issued an alert for very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall across Telangana. In response, the School Education department has declared full holidays for government and private schools in Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Mahabubabad, Warangal, and Yadadri districts for two days.
Hyderabad: With the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing an alert of very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in the State, the School Education department on Tuesday declared a holiday for schools in some districts and a half-day holiday in the GHMC area on August 13 and 14.
Both government and private schools in Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Yadadri districts will have a closed holiday on August 13 and 14.
However, all schools in GHMC areas have been directed to operate in the morning shift, with a half-day holiday on both days.
