Hyderabad: The State government on Thursday issued a final notification regarding the reorganization of Warangal Urban and Warangal Rural into Hanamkonda and Warangal districts. To this effect, GOMs 74 was issued listing out the details of mandals and villages covered in the two districts.
Accordingly, Warangal district will now have Warangal and Narsampet revenue mandals covering an area of 1805.37 square kms with a population of 8,93,715. Hanamkonda will now have Hanamkonda and Parkal revenue mandals covering an area of 1688.75 square kms and a population of 9,05,744.
Further, 13 mandals including Warangal, Khila Warangal, Sangem, Geesukonda, Wardhannapet, Parvathagiri, Rayaparthy, Narsampet, Chennaraopet, Nallabelly, Duggondi, Khanapur and Nekkonda will now be under Warangal district administration limits.
A total of 14 mandals including Hanamkonda, Khazipet, Inavole, Hasanparthy, Velair, Dharmasagar, Elkakurthy, Bheemadevarapalli, Kamalapur, Parkal, Nadikuda, Damera, Athmakur and Shayampet will be under Hanamkonda district administration limits.
Panchayat Raj Minister E. Dayakar Rao and Women Development and Child Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for the reorganization of Hanamkonda and Warangal districts.
Following the issue of final notification, a festive atmosphere prevailed in both the districts and elected public representatives distributed sweets to the public as part of the celebrations.
At a programme organized in front of Hanamkonda district Collector office, Government Whip Vinay Bhaskar and Panchayat Raj Minister performed palabishekham to the portrait of the Chief Minister.
A total of 133 objections and suggestions over the reorganization of Warangal Urban and Warangal Rural districts were received from the people of both the districts. While 41 suggestions and objections were received from Warangal Rural district, 92 suggestions and objections were from Warangal Urban district.
On July 12, the State government had issued a preliminary notification for reorganisation of Warangal Urban and Warangal Rural districts into Hanamkonda and Warangal districts.
