Hyderabad: Countering BJP Telangana Affairs in-charge Tarun Chugh’s remarks on Congress party’s prospects in the State, former MP V Hanumantha Rao said BJP would never come to power in Telangana.
Reacting sharply to BJP leader Tarun Chugh’s comments that Congress had lost its hold in the State, Hanumantha Rao said, “Forget about BJP winning 80 seats, it would be great if it wins eight seats in Telangana.”
In a video released here on Friday, the senior Congress leader said BJP party was claiming its victory in Dubbak and Huzurabad constituencies but it was the success of BJP candidates Raghunandan Rao and E Rajender. They won these elections due to their personal charisma and not with BJP flags, he said.
“BJP has no stature to comment on Congress. None can stop our party. Though there are a few temporary losses, future belongs to Congress,” said Hanumantha Rao.
Meanwhile, Congress MLC T Jeevan Reddy said farming community in the State was facing two issues. While State government was not procuring paddy pertaining to Vaanakalam season, Central government was not giving any clarity on Yasangi season procurement, he said.
He demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao stage protests at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and prove his commitment to farmers’ welfare.
“It was not wise on the Chief Minister’s part to blame Central government for failing to procure paddy. Instead, the State government should come to the rescue of farmers,” said Jeevan Reddy.
