Warangal: Former Minister and senior BRS MLA T Harish Rao strongly condemned the detention of former MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy and other BRS leaders at the party office in Hanamkonda on Sunday.

He criticised the Congress government for silencing dissent as Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka visited Warangal amidst rising discontent over the Rythu Bharosa scheme.

Taking to X, Harish Rao called the detention of BRS leaders an attempt to stifle legitimate protests against the Congress’ betrayal of Telangana farmers. He charged the Congress government with backtracking on its promise of providing Rs 7,500 per acre per season and providing Rs 6,000, leaving farmers outraged. “How long will the Ministers hide behind heavy police force during their visits?” he questioned.

The BRS leader vowed that the party would continue its protests until Congress fulfils its promises to farmers. “Farmers deserve answers, not empty assurances,” he said, demanding the immediate release of detained leaders.
