Siddipet: Finance Minister T Harish Rao reiterated that Telangana government will regularise contract lecturer jobs once the case filed against it in the court is cleared. Stating that the Advocate General will put forth strong arguments in the court to get the verdict in favour of the contract lecturers, Rao said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was committed to that.
Elaborating on how the TRS government has been giving the best salary since the State formation, Rao said that they had given 30 per cent fitment to contract lecturers on a par with government lecturers. Saying that no government had given wage increment to contract lecturers on a par with regular employees in the past, Rao said the Chief Minister’s decision had benefited over 1.20 lakh contract employees. Thanking the Telangana government for giving 30 per cent fitment to contract lecturers, the Contract Lecturers Joint Action Committee organised a meeting in Siddipet on Sunday.
He said that they had enhanced a number of posts in junior colleges, degree colleges and polytechnic colleges in the State after Telangana was created.
