Harish Rao blames Congress for APO’s death, seeks salary release
Former Minister T Harish Rao blamed the Congress government for the death of K Srinivas, an MGNREGS officer who died of a heart attack allegedly due to unpaid salaries. He demanded immediate payment of dues to APOs and sanitation staff
Hyderabad: Former Minister and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao held the Congress government responsible for the death of K Srinivas, who was working as Assistant Programme Officer (APO) of MGNREGS in Devaruppula mandal and reportedly died of a heart attack due to mounting financial and work pressures. He said salaries of APOs had not been paid for over three months under the Congress regime.
He demanded that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy immediately release pending salaries for all MGNREGS APOs and sanitation staff.
Harish Rao slammed the Congress government for pushing employees into financial distress and forcing them to sustain their families without pay. He said Srinivas’s tragic death was a direct result of the government’s apathy. “This is not just negligence, but cruelty. People who work hard to serve the rural economy are dying under pressure while this government remains unmoved,” he said.
He stated that the situation was equally grim for sanitation workers, who too had not received their wages. “Sanitation has collapsed in villages, and the Congress leaders who promised a golden era during elections have now gone completely silent,” he remarked.
