Hyderabad: BRS leader and former Minister T Harish Rao has strongly condemned the increasing attacks on BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) cadre by Congress goons in Kollapur. He expressed his concern over the incident, calling it a disgraceful assault on democracy and an abuse of power.

Rao highlighted that Telangana, which was peaceful until a year ago, had seen a surge in violence and crime since the Congress came to power. The latest attack on the BRS cadre in Naryanayak Thanda in the Kollapur constituency is an addition to the list of disturbing attacks.

“Revanth Reddy promised change with Congress and now he has indeed brought change by inciting Congress cadre to violence,” Rao tweeted. He accused Congress of implementing a “Congress mark emergency” in Kollapur, with goons attacking BRS workers and leaders in Satapur and Naryanayak Thanda within a span of a day.

Rao criticised the police for their inaction despite the increasing attacks by followers of Minister Jupally Krishna Rao. He emphasised that every party has the right to campaign and fight for the resolution of people’s issues in a democracy. Rao accused the Congress of resorting to violence out of fear that their failures would be exposed to the public.
