Harish Rao demands compensation for Maddur demolition victims

Hyderabad: BRS Legislature Party deputy leader T Harish Rao demanded immediate fair compensation and rehabilitation for families whose houses were demolished in Maddur under the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. He slammed the Congress government for carrying out demolitions without prior notice.

Questioning the Revanth Reddy government’s actions, Harish Rao asked how residents who had lived in the houses for years could be suddenly rendered homeless. He also questioned the government’s right to demolish houses without issuing notices and whether court orders were being respected.

He said Revanth Reddy, who claims to be the son of Kodangal, sent bulldozers to raze the homes of the poor in his own constituency overnight. “Why are you acting so ruthlessly without even issuing notices? Don’t you have any respect for the court verdicts?” he asked.
