Harish Rao demands rollback of RTC fare hike, accuses govt of burdening passengers

Hyderabad: BRS deputy floor leader T Harish Rao slammed the Congress government over the alleged steep hike in RTC bus fares, terming it a burden on passengers. He demanded immediate rollback of the increased fares and warned that the BRS would not remain silent if the government continued burdening passengers.
Sharing bus tickets sent by passengers on X, Harish Rao said the AC bus fare between Hyderabad and Hanamkonda rose from Rs 410 on August 20 to Rs 570 on September 11, imposing an additional Rs 160 burden on a passenger in just 20 days. He questioned the hike across routes without prior notice, accusing the government of looting people after promising a people’s governance.
