Hyderabad: Former Minister and senior BRS MLA T Harish Rao on Friday, charged the Congress regime with prioritising commissions over public welfare. He cited the unprecedented protest by contractors at the Secretariat as evidence to the corrupt administration and selective clearance of bills by Ministers only on payment of bribes.

“While sarpanches are left struggling for their pending payments, Ministers are ensuring bills are paid to contractors who agree to pay hefty commissions. This has been exposed by today’s agitation at the Secretariat,” he remarked, demanding for the immediate release of pending bills and called for a white paper on all bills cleared by the Finance Department during the Congress rule.

The senior BRS leader also questioned Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s evasion when contractors stormed the Secretariat. “Why did he flee through the back gate instead of addressing the aggrieved contractors?” he asked.

Pointing out the plight of government employees, Harish Rao revealed that the Congress owes Rs 6,000 crore in pending dues to retired employees and teachers. “Should employees also pay commissions like contractors to receive their rightful dues?” he questioned, blaming the government for using bureaucratic loopholes to delay payments.

The former Minister stated that the Congress is collecting bribes at every level to fund its high command in Delhi. He pointed to the 20 per cent commission claim made by protesting contractors as undeniable proof of corruption. He urged Rahul Gandhi and also Central investigative agencies to act immediately against the corrupt Congress government. He vowed that BRS would expose corruption at every forum, demanding justice for those affected.
