Siddipet: Health Minister T Harish Rao, who examined the progress of the door-to-door fever survey in Siddipet town on Saturday, said that the health workers across Telangana have handed over 48,000 home isolation kits to citizens who were suffering from different Covid-19 symptoms on the first day of the survey.
Speaking after examining the door-to-door survey in Siddipet on Saturday, the Minister said that the health workers have covered over 12.68 lakh people on Friday alone with an objective to identify the Covid-19 patients.
Hoping that the Covid-19 cases would decline shortly, Rao said that the symptoms of the Omricon variant were not so serious. He exuded confidence that the survey will be completed in 5 to 8 days. Saying that they have also distributed 25,000 home isolation kits after carrying out a door-to-door survey during the second wave last year, Rao said that the Telangana government’s efforts drew praise from NITI Ayog too. Stating that there were 27,000 Oxygen-connected beds were ready across the State, the Minister said that they created separate facilities for children and adults to effectively combat the Covid-19.
He further said that they have increased Oxygen storage capacity from 120 Metric tonnes to 370 metric tonnes. He said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao instructed them to fill each and every vacant post in the health department without any delay.
