Harish Rao exposes Revanth Reddy’s lies on irrigation in Mahabubnagar

Siddipet: Former Minister T Harish Rao said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was lying about the BRS government’s work on improving the area under irrigation in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district.
Addressing the farewell meeting of Gajwel-Praganpur municipal councillors in Gajwel on Sunday, Harish Rao said the BRS government had brought 6 lakh acres under irrigation in Mahabubnagar under the leadership of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
The Congress and TDP governments had kept Nettampadu, Koil Sagar and Kalwakurthy projects pending for 20 years and restricted the area under irrigation to a mere 26,000 acres.
While Congress and TDP ignored Mahabubnagar’s development, the BRS government had ushered in prosperity as Krishna water was supplied to every nook and cranny.
He challenged Revanth Reddy to come to Kurumurthy temple in Mahabubnagar to take an oath on who actually worked to improve the area under cultivation in the district.
Criticising Revanth Reddy for inviting repeated applications for getting government benefits, he said the BRS government had implemented all welfare schemes without asking for applications.
The people were now forced to spend a lot of money and time on applications, he said, asking Revanth Reddy to focus on fulfilling the promises made during the election campaign instead of criticising opposition parties.
Rao also exposed the Chief Minister’s claims of completing 100 per cent of the loan waiver. Many farmers did not get the loan waiver while the farmers, whose names featured in the beneficiaries list, did not get the amount as the government was yet to release the funds.
