Siddipet: Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday flayed Cheruku Srinivas Reddy for changing the party within a day during an election meeting in Dubbak constituency.

The Minister was speaking after welcoming Cheruku Kondal Reddy, Medak District General Secretary of Congress into TRS at Chekodu in Dubbak Constituency along with his followers. Several other leaders from both the Congress and BJP parties joined the TRS in the presence of Harish Rao during various meetings in Dubbak constituency on Wednesday.

Harish Rao said Srinivas Reddy had raised ‘Jai TRS, Jai KCR’ just a couple of days ago, and when the TRS leadership announced the candidature of Sujatha to support Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy family, the latter changed his stand and started raising slogans against the same party after joining Congress.

Pointing out that there Srinivas Reddy’s defection was of no consequence, the Minister said that 99 per cent of Dubbak people were backing TRS with several leaders from the Opposition parties joining the ruling party. “People of the constituency will teach a lesson to such people. Though we tried to persuade Srinivas Reddy to stay back with assurance that he would be given a suitable position at the right time, he decided to part ways,” Harish Rao said.

Elaborating various welfare and development works initiated by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, he said Congress had done nothing for the people of Dubbak during their rule in undivided Andhra Pradesh.

The TRS government provided drinking water connection to each and every house, but the Congress failed to provide drinking water to even a single house during their 50 years of rule, he pointed out. The Minister participated in several programmes during the day in the constituency.

Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy and others accompanied him.
