Hyderabad: BRS deputy floor leader and former Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday said the High Court verdict on the Justice PC Ghose Commission reaffirmed that truth ultimately prevails. He urged the Congress government to end vindictive politics and expedite repairs to the Medigadda barrage.

Reacting to the judgment, Harish Rao said the court found fault with the inquiry process, citing violations of natural justice and fundamental rights. He stated that the High Court invalidated adverse remarks in the Commission’s report and barred any action based on its findings.

Calling it a setback to the Congress, he alleged that the verdict exposed political conspiracies and rebutted Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s claims on the Kaleshwaram project. He urged the government to focus on safeguarding farmers’ interests by completing pending repairs, reiterating that Kaleshwaram remains the lifeline of Telangana.

Former Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy also welcomed the High Court verdict and urged the Congress government to prioritise completion of the repair works of Medigadda barrage to commence full-fledged operations of the Kaleshwaram project.
