Hyderabad: Former Minister and senior BRS MLA T Harish Rao criticised the Congress government for resorting to fake promises and fake encounters in Telangana, creating unrest across the State. He said the Congress government is not only betraying public trust, but undermining democracy.

“What is the purpose of celebrating one year celebrations when the government indulges in bogus encounters? On one hand, they impose arrests, detentions, and sanctions, while on the other, they orchestrate fake encounters to suppress dissent,” Harish Rao said, in response to the encounter killing of seven Maoists near Eturunagaram on Sunday.

He charged the Congress government with failing to deliver on its promises, stating that “all sections of society were deceived, and the six guarantees promised to the people have been turned into six betrayals.” He also said the government failed to deliver the people’s governance (Praja Palana), labeling this as the seventh betrayal against the people of Telangana.
