Hyderabad: Former Minister and senior BRS MLA T Harish Rao flayed the Congress government, accusing it of pushing farmers into misery with acute urea shortages. He warned that Telangana is heading towards an agrarian crisis.
“Under the ten-year BRS rule, farmers lived with dignity. Today, in the Congress regime, they are forced to fall at the feet of the officials and plead for urea,” he said, expressing anguish over a viral video of a farmer touching the feet of an official at a fertiliser distribution centre.
He pointed out that farmers are forced to stand in long queues in the pouring rain, reduced to tears in their struggle for a single bag of fertiliser. “This government has left farmers with nothing but despair,” he remarked.
