Hyderabad: Former Minister and senior BRS leader T Harish Rao strongly criticised the Congress government over the non-payment of salaries to frontline workers in Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP) hospitals for the past three months. On behalf of BRS, he demanded immediate clearance of pending salaries, regular monthly payments, and an end to contractors’ illegal wage cuts for salaries paid to the contract staff.
In a statement, Harish Rao lashed out at the ruling party, stating that sanitation, patient care, and security staff who play a crucial role in hospitals, have been forced onto the streets due to the government’s negligence. He charged the Congress with failing its promise of timely salary payments, questioning CM Revanth Reddy’s silence on the issue.
He demanded strict action against contractors who are violating tender conditions by withholding salaries and not depositing provident fund contributions. “Workers who depend on their monthly wages for rent and children’s education are struggling. Yet, the government remains unmoved,” he said.
