Harish Rao questions Centre’s bias against Telangana in fund allocation for Godavari Pushkaralu

Harish Rao stated that Telangana demands its rightful share and equal treatment with other States.

Hyderabad: The union government sanctioned Rs 100 crore to Andhra Pradesh for Godavari Pushkaralu arrangements, but Telangana has been completely left out, receiving nothing. Despite having eight BJP MPs including two union Ministers from Telangana, the State did not receive any funds.

Raising the issue, former Minister and senior BRS MLA T Harish Rao expressed his dismay over the Centre’s poor treatment of Telangana, stating that if BRS had a stronger position in the Lok Sabha, it would never have allowed such a grave injustice to occur. He reminded the glaring disparity in the union Budget allocations as well, where Andhra Pradesh received Rs 15,000 crore in additional grants, while Telangana got zero. “Is Telangana being sidelined again? Why this constant bias?” questioned Harish Rao.

He demanded the union government to correct this injustice immediately and ensure that Telangana is treated on part with other states in all future allocations.
