Hyderabad: Former Minister and MLA T Harish Rao said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was busy in Maharashtra on a misinformation campaign while neglecting the State’s administration.

Addressing a news conference held at Telangana Bhavan, Harish Rao accused Revanth Reddy of actively misleading the public in Maharashtra. He described Revanth’s actions as “deceptive and damaging,” pointing to numerous unfulfilled promises and questionable claims made by the Chief Minister in Mumbai.

Harish Rao highlighted several key areas where Revanth Reddy has failed to deliver in Telangana. He noted that while many promises remain unkept at home, Revanth Reddy was now attempting to deceive Maharashtra voters with empty rhetoric. According to Harish Rao, Revanth Reddy has left Telangana in disarray, with Ministers and resources focused on Maharashtra’s election campaigns, diverting Telangana’s funds to other States.

Harish Rao criticized Revanth Reddy’s loan waiver claims, which he recently promoted in Maharashtra. While Revanth Reddy claimed to have waived loans for 40 lakh Telangana farmers, only Rs..17,000 crore of the promised Rs..31,000 crore was delivered, leaving 22 lakh farmers still awaiting relief. This delay, Rao noted, had forced Telangana’s farmers into deeper financial strain, with mounting interest burdens as banks aggressively pursue collections.

He also underscored that Congress’s much-publicized “six guarantees” remain unkept nearly a year after the election, despite promises to fulfil them within 100 days. He questioned Revanth Reddy’s credibility, given that not a single guarantee was implemented despite a commitment made on bond paper.

In addition to the failure on loan waivers, Rao criticized Revanth Reddy’s broken promises for Telangana’s farmers. While the government had pledged Rs.15,000 per acre in support under the Rythu Bandhu scheme and an additional Rs.500 bonus for paddy, no such support materialized. Farmers have been forced to sell their produce at lower rates due to a lack of procurement at the promised support price, driving home the impact of the government’s neglect.

Harish Rao also dismissed Revanth Reddy’s claims of creating 50,000 jobs in Telangana within 10 months, describing them as “an outright fabrication.” He noted that no job notifications or exams have been conducted, and the two-lakh-job promise remained unfulfilled.
