Hyderabad: Former Minister and senior BRS MLA T Harish Rao came down heavily on the Congress government after contractors once again staged a protest inside the Secretariat over the delay in clearance of pending bills. This could be the first time in the country that contractors staged a dharna twice within two years under any State government, he said.

Harish Rao recalled how contractors earlier had besieged the Finance Minister’s office, alleging that bills were not being cleared without payment of commissions.

“Today, they were forced to stage a flash protest in front of the Finance department on the second floor of the Secretariat again. What more proof is needed that commissions are being demanded without following due procedures in clearing bills?” he asked.

Questioning whether this was a Congress government or a “Scamgress” government, the BRS legislator said there was “no mission, no vision” in governance.

“The Congress government has only one target, which is ‘commission.’ If this continues, people will be left with no choice but to unite and confront this government,” he warned.
