Hyderabad: Former Minister and BRS MLA T Harish Rao came down heavily on the Congress government, charging it with playing with the future of candidates selected for engineering posts in the Irrigation department. He said despite clearing exams, candidates are still left waiting for appointment letters. He demanded that the Congress government immediately issue appointment letters to the selected candidates.

In a statement, Harish Rao stated that 224 Assistant Engineers (AEs) and 199 Junior Technical Officers (JTOs), selected during the BRS regime, were struggling due to undue delay in their appointment under the Congress government. “This is a cruel betrayal of young people who studied hard, cleared exams, and are ready to serve,” he said.

He condemned the repeated postponement of the appointment, due to unavailability of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He said it had become routine for the Revanth Reddy government to offer excuses and avoid delivering on commitments, including postponement of SSC results. “The joy of earning a job is being stripped away by a government more focused on slogans than governance,” he said.
