Finance Minister T Harish Rao speaking at a poll rally in Singapur village in Huzurabad on Tuesday.
Huzurabad: Finance Minister T Harish Rao termed the BJP’s manifesto released for Huzurabad constituency as a big joke and irrelevant. BJP national leader and Telangana in-charge Tarun Chugh released a manifesto for Huzurabad constituency at a programme held in Huzurabad town on Tuesday. BJP, in its manifesto, promised to develop all railway stations in the constituency, construct rail over bridges (ROB) at required places, Rs 3,000 pension to farmers who crossed 60 years of age and others.
Participating in the election campaign in Illanthakunta mandal headquarters, Harish Rao said though the TRS has been demanding that the BJP leaders to explain what they would do for Huzurabad constituency if their candidate was elected in the by-polls, they failed to reply all these days.
Talking about BJP’s promise to provide drinking water to every household, the Minister said the TRS government started the supply of drinking water to each house four years ago under Mission Bhagiratha. BJP leaders do not have awareness of their own constituency, he said. He found fault with BJP for promising to develop Jammikunta railway station by cancelling Karimnagr-Jammikunta-Huzurabad-Warangal railway line.
During the 2014 election campaign, BJP had promised to recruit 2 crore jobs every year and instead of fulfilling its old promise, the BJP is making fresh promises to provide jobs to local youth, he pointed out.
On the Rs 3,000 pension promise, Harish Rao said the BJP government in Gujarat was providing only Rs 600 pension and wondered how will the BJP State leaders give Rs 3,000 pension in Huzurabad.
