Khammam: Former minister T Harish Rao would visit Khammam on a two-day tour on November 21 and 22, the BRS district president, MLC Tatha Madhusudhan informed.

He addressed a meeting held with mandal party presidents and key leaders here on Tuesday and called on the party ranks and tribal activists to make Harish Rao’s visit to Khammam a success. On November 21 at 6 pm, a candle light rally would be organised from pavilion grounds to Ambedkar statue at ZP centre in solidarity with the victims of the Lagacharla incident.

On November 22, a group of public representatives and leaders led by Harish Rao would visit the Khammam agricultural market to interact with farmers about the purchase of cotton, chill and paddy.

Later, he would visit Proddutur and Lacchagudem villages of Chintakani mandal to meet the families of two farmers who died recently and BRS party Chintakani mandal president Pentyala Pullaiah, who was facing illegal cases and his family. The former minister would address the mandal party workers. He would also pay a visit to the family of a farmer who committed suicide in Chintakani mandal and family of another farmer who died due to electric shock, Madhusudhan informed.

Addressing the party workers, Madhusudhan, leaders S Venkata Veeraiah, K Koteswara Rao, Lingala Kamal Raj and Gundala keishna accused three ministers in the district, Bhatti Vikramarka, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Tummala Nageswara Rao of acting egotistically.

Illegal cases were being filed against those who were questioning the ministers while police acting like servants of the deputy Chief Minister and his wife. People’s anger towards the government was increasing, the leaders said.In many places, the government has not set up paddy purchase centres. The condition of cotton farmers was very bad. Everyone should condemn the attack on Lambada farmers in Lagacharla, they added.
