Siddipet: Former Minister T Harish Rao, who has been supporting a semi-orphaned girl’s education for the last four years, has invited her to his home and hosted over a breakfast on Sunday after she cracked the NEET examination.
Harish Rao then offered to support her entire medical education. The girl’s father Madduri Raju used to run a tea stall in Siddipet. However, Raju died of brain cancer some five years ago, leaving the responsibility of his three daughters to his widow.
The widow, who used to work in hotels, used to find it difficult even to feed her three daughters. Since the family had no house, the locals helped the family to meet Harish Rao, seeking his support for the family. Rao had helped the family to get a 2-BHK House besides funding their school education.
While the first girl Kavya was pursuing the degree second year, the second girl Akhila cracked NEET by scoring 453 marks out of 720 marks. Since she is all set to get the MBBS seat in a reputed college, Rao congratulated her and offered to bear all the expenses of her MBBS.
The family thanked Harish Rao for his kind support. Rao also thanked the management of Meridian School in Siddipet for providing education to Akhila.
