Hyderabad: Security in the older parts of the city was scaled up as a precautionary measure in view of verdict in the Akbaruddin Owaisi hate speech case.
The special sessions court for trial of MPs/MLAs will pronounce the verdict in the case on Wednesday.
Teams from the Commissioner’s Task Force, Telangana State Special Police and City Armed Reserve were deployed at various sensitive places to prevent any trouble.
Senior police officials held a meeting with the SHOs and asked them to be on alert and conduct intensified patrolling.
Akbaruddin Owaisi, floor leader of AIMIM is facing cases for his alleged hate speeches delivered at Nizamabad and Nirmal in Telangana in December 2012.
