Hyderabad: Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Saturday launched the Covid vaccination programme for the frontline workers at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS).

She appealed to all the frontline warriors and others to take the vaccine with confidence as the vaccines were developed and cleared as per strict safety norms adhering to international standards.

“Our Prime Minister has personally visited the Bharat Biotech laboratory at the Genome Valley in Hyderabad and motivated the scientists to come up with an effective vaccine to end the Covid-19 pandemic,” she said and stated that this was the launch of the world’s largest vaccination programme and it triggered the end of the pandemic.

On being asked about when she will take the vaccine herself, she said, “As the First Citizen of the State, I will take the vaccine along with all other citizens.”
