Hyderabad: Telangana High Court Bench of Justice Thukaram directed the BCCI to consider and dispose of the Telangana Cricket Association representation made to BCCI on 18.12.2025 and resolve the matter by December 29.
The Counsel for TCA, Raja Sripathi Rao, and Advocate S Surender Reddy appeared for TCA and argued that the G Venkataswany Cup T20 League for districts by HCA is in violation of the BCCI 11th July 2021 order, against BCCI rule 38 on conflict of interest, against the guidelines of COA of BCCI in July 2018 on taking compulsory prior approval for conducting T20 leagues and about the restriction of the BCCI calendar Window that between September 15th and the end of February, all BCCI-affiliated Associations can not conduct T20 leagues.
The TCA Counsel further argued that there is a BCCI Rule 31 on Approval of Tournaments and punishment for participating in unapproved Tournaments, that any player or association conducting or playing in unapproved tournaments will be punished.
TCA Secretary Dharam Guruva Reddy said the BCCI asked for time till Monday to decide on TCA representation. BCCI has considered earlier court orders from the Bombay High Court 3 times, Supreme Court orders once, and the Hyderabad High Court twice in other TCA-related matters. Hence, BCCI cannot go back now on its earlier stand, he said.
