Hyderabad: Justice Juvvadi Sridevi of the Telangana High Court directed the Telangana State Dairy Development Cooperative Federation (Vijaya Dairy) to temporarily accommodate the Government Girls Primary School, Seethaphalmandi-II, in one of its vacant quarters after noting that the existing school building is in a dilapidated condition and poses safety concerns for students.

The direction came in a writ petition filed by parents and local residents seeking allotment of five acres of government land for construction of a permanent school building and immediate measures to ensure the smooth functioning of the institution. The petitioners contended that despite a decision to upgrade government schools in core urban areas, no land had been allotted for the school.

During the hearing, counsel for the petitioners, Government Pleader for School Education and counsel for Vijaya Dairy informed the Court that a joint inspection of the premises proposed for the school’s relocation had been conducted pursuant to earlier directions and that Quarter No. A-2 at Lalapet was found to be vacant.

Taking note of the submissions and considering the safety and well-being of the students, Justice Sridevi directed Vijaya Dairy to permit the Government Girls Primary School to function temporarily from Quarter No. A-2 for the academic year 2026-27 with effect from June 29.

On being informed that the vacant quarter did not have electricity and water supply, the Court further directed Vijaya Dairy to provide the basic amenities forthwith so that the school could function without any hindrance. The matter has been posted to August 25 for filing of counter-affidavit by TG Dairy Development Corporation.
