Hyderabad: Hyderabad Cricket Association President A. Jagan Mohan Rao has decided not to be part of the meetings to be held in this IPL Season-2025 with the Sunrisers Hyderabad to “resolve all pending issues.”

This was mentioned in a letter by the HCA (interestingly circulated to the media without attributing it to any member of the Apex Council), to a senior official of the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the wake of the controversy over the issue of the complimentary tickets for the ongoing IPL matches and alleged blackmailing by the HCA in this regard.

“You are informed that the HCA President has agreed not to be part of the meetings to be held in this IPL Season-2025 with HCA officials. In view of the above, we request all the officials of SRH to come forward with an open mind for a complete resolution of all outstanding issues,” HCA said in the letter.

“We hope and trust that a suitable early date is forwarded by the officials of SRH for an early meeting and resolution avoiding the needless exchange of emails,” it is informed.

“The Apex Council clarifies that Mr. A. Jagan Mohan Rao, President, HCA, did not make any personal request to block 3900 tickets per match for his purchase and reiterates the discussions held on 19.02.2025, wherein the President has made a request on behalf of the Apex Council’s proposal to provide the tickets to the Club Secretaries,” according to the letter by the HCA today.

“Be informed that the inaction or indifference of the SRH officials was the only reason for locking of the F-3 Box. Once the meeting of the aforesaid officials took place, the issue was resolved within a couple of minutes and the Box was opened a couple of hours before the commencement of the match. Therefore, please do not term this action as blackmail or coercive pressure to give 20 complimentary tickets before the match,” the HCA said.

“We leave it to your wisdom to decide whether non-resolutions of the issues, failing to respond to messages or sit for a meeting and resolve the issue is professionalism or compelling the HCA or leaving HCA with no other option to make the officials of SRH attend for a meeting for resolutions can be called as unprofessionalism,” HCA said in the letter.
