Hyderabad: The Crime Investigation Department of Telangana police arrested five persons, including the president of Hyderabad Cricket Association, for allegedly cheating and misappropriating funds with criminal breach of trust.

The arrested are A Jagan Mohan Rao, president Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), J S Srinivasa Rao, Treasurer of HCA, Sunil Kante, CEO of HCA, Rajendra Yadav, General Secretary of Sri Chakra Cricket Club and G Kavitha, president of Sri Chakra Cricket Club.

According to the CID, a case was registered following a complaint by Dharam Guruva Reddy, General Secretary of Telangana Cricket Association, following misappropriation of funds by Jagan Mohan and others.

“A Jagan Mohan Rao, in collusion with G Kavitha, and Rajendra Yadav forged documents of Sri Chakra Cricket Club, which was called Gowlipura Cricket Club (GCC) by forging signatures of C Krishna Yadav, who is president of GCC. Their forged documents were used as genuine, enabling Jagan Mohan to dishonestly gain entry into HCA as president,” said Charu Sinha, Additional DGP, CID Telangana.

Jagan Mohan, allegedly colluding with the other suspects Srinivas Rao and Sunil Kante, with ill intentions, restrained the IPL SunRisers Hyderabad officials over complimentary tickets and access to corporate boxes and threatened them with dire consequences, added the Additional DGP.

The case was registered under Sections 465,468,471,403, 409,420 r/w 34 of IPC.
