HCA relaxes age limit for institutional players for 2026–27 season
Hyderabad Cricket Association Administrator Justice (Retd) P. Naveen Rao announced a one-time relaxation of the upper age limit of 40 years for institutional players for the 2026–2027 season, following requests from stakeholders and a revision of earlier notification

Hyderabad: Justice (Retd) P. Naveen Rao, Administrator of Hyderabad Cricket Association, informed on Thursday that the prescribed upper age limit of 40 (forty) years for representing institutions is hereby relaxed strictly as a one-time measure for the season 2026–2027 only.
“During my interactions with institutional stakeholders, I received many requests. Duly taking note of the concerns, a revision is being carried out in the notification dated 10.3.2026 as under: In partial modification of the Notification dated 10.03.2026, it is hereby notified that Point No. 4 of the said Notification shall stand revised to the extent specified,” he said in a media release.
