Hyderabad: In what could come as sweet music to former cricketers, the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has decided to pay three months’ pension to all eligible players, according to secretary R Vijayanand. The HCA has stopped paying the pension since 2017 but with this revival of pension, the former players stand to gain. Those who played less than 10 matches will get Rs 4,000 per month and players above 10 to 24 matches will receive Rs 6,000. These players don’t come under the BCCI pension scheme.
Meanwhile, HCA is all set to organise the Group D fixtures of the under-19 Vinoo Mankad one-day matches which commences from September 28. Kerala, Baroda, Punjab, Haryana, Bengal play in this group. The matches will be held at Gymkhana, Uppal Stadium and NFC grounds. As per instructions from the BCCI, the HCA is following strict Covid-19 protocols for conducting these under-19 matches. The AOC ground is the standby venue.
