Hyderabad: Post Covid, demand and adoption of digital tools has seen a huge spike and to meet this demand, HealthPlix Technologies is scaling up its team and enhancing capabilities to cater to certain specialties and new product lines by hiring across functions such as analytics, product and design with a focus on catering to the needs of doctors.
HealthPlix, with its doctor base and network spanning across 370 cities in India, makes it the largest electronic medical record (EMR) software provider. The company has adopted a multi-channel strategy to get closer to the doctor community.
Sandeep Gudibanda, CEO, HealthPlix Technologies, told Telangana Today, “Owing to our new strategy, the total number of new patients added, and the corresponding prescriptions written by doctors through the platform have grown by 2X over last year. Today, we are at 10,000 monthly active users (MAU) in our EMR platform. We are seeing strong demand from tier 2 and tier 3 cities and are expanding our team presence in line with the same.”
“We have received funding from investors such as Lightspeed Venture Partners, JSW Ventures, Kalaari Capital and Chiratae Ventures. We recently raised $13.5 million as part of our Series B funding, which was led by Lightspeed Ventures and joined by existing investors,” he added.
Empowering doctors
Founded in 2014, HealthPlix is designed to empower doctors. The biggest challenge faced by doctors was the inability to remember patient history and medical records. So far, healthtech innovation has not supported doctors in improving care and staying ahead of their competition.
“We are going one step further, by designing physician-facing intelligent dashboards to easily track the most important aspects of their patients’ records with pre-defined algorithms. For instance, our EMR software has a knowledge base that helps doctors determine all the factors needed to assess as they treat patients,” Gudibanda added.
HealthPlix’s two-fold strategy is to work with key opinion leaders in healthcare such as diabetologists, endocrinologists and health system directors, researchers, patient advocacy group members as well as pharmaceutical companies.
Digital stack
The company believes EMR will become the new normal in healthcare delivery. HealthPlix aspires to build a digital healthcare stack that will power the end-to-end clinic and patient management for the doctors.
Prashant Parmar, head-Sales, Doctor Growth, HealthPlix Technologies, said, “We have developed an agile system that empowers doctors with tools such as e-prescribing, e-consultation, regional Rx among a host of other features.”
The adoption of EMR helped digitise administrative tasks and the storage of clinical records seamlessly. “We have invested heavily in creating a secure and fully encrypted tech stack. Our aim is to keep this momentum going and aspire to grow 8x in the next two years by expanding our team and adding more product depth,” Parmar added.
AI and analytics
The company’s AI-powered EMR focuses on the needs of Indian doctors. The EMR learns from the usage patterns of the doctors, with an effective use of personalisation machine learning models and HealthPlix learns from every keystroke that the doctor makes. This helps in identifying patterns and modules that are most effective.
Besides EMR, HealthPlix has launched Robin for doctors in India, a doctor-facing UI designed to easily track the critical aspects of their patient visits with predefined algorithms and quick links to visual charts. Through Robin, doctors can understand the demographics of their patients, the rate of increase in patient footfall, increase in chronic patients, and further help the patients with the right and effective treatment.
The recent addition of the Prescription Summary Dashboard feature to Robin suite is letting doctors deep dive for their research needs, given it offers a longitudinal view of disease progression that helps doctors understand, assess & compare various treatment regimens. The scope of Robin is expansive and will see many updates in the future aimed at empowering doctors to drive better patient outcomes, Gudibanda added.
