Heat wave grips Adilabad region as temperatures cross 44 degrees Celsius

Parts of the erstwhile Adilabad district continued to reel under intense heat wave conditions, with temperatures crossing 44°C in several mandals. Daily life was disrupted as people stayed indoors and farmers suspended agricultural activities amid extreme weather conditions.

Adilabad: Parts of erstwhile Adilabad district continued to boil under scorching heat wave conditions for the second day on Friday.

According to a weather report on the website Telangana Development Planning Society, Buttapur of Nirmal mandal centre saw the highest maximum temperature by 44.5 degrees Celsius, while Mamada mandal and Dasturabaad mandal recorded the maximum temperature of 44.3 degree C each. Nirmal Rural mandal witnessed the maximum temperature of 44.2 degrees C.


Similarly, Bela mandal in Adilabad district and Adilabad Urban mandal recorded the maximum temperature of 44.4 degrees C each, while Boath mandal had the maximum temperature of 44.3 degrees C. Cheprala village in Bela mandal registered the maximum temperature over 44 degrees C for the third day on Friday. It had the maximum temperature of 44.3 degrees C, 44.3 degrees C and 44.1 degrees C on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday respectively.

Meantime, Lonavelli in Sirpur (T) mandal of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district witnessed the maximum temperature by 44.3 degree C, followed by Kerameri, Jainoor and Wankidi mandal headquarter which recorded the maximum temperature by 44.1 degrees C each. Bejjur mandal registered the maximum temperature of 44 degrees C. Bheemaram and Velganoor of Dandepalli mandal in Mancherial district saw the maximum temperature of 44.3 degrees C each.

Following torrid heat wave conditions prevailed in several parts of erstwhile Adilabad district, people were forced to remain indoors and stay hydrated. Roads wore a deserted look in towns. Farmers suspended farm operations. They relied on fresh juices, coconuts, ice apples and buttermilk to beat the heat.
