Heavy rain alert issued for Telangana
MET forecast heavy rains, thunderstorms, and gusty winds across Telangana, including Hyderabad, until June 17. A yellow alert has been issued for all districts, with significant drops in temperature and storm activity expected
Hyderabad: Several regions across Telangana, including Hyderabad and surrounding districts, are expected to receive heavy rains for the next three to four days.
While the maximum temperature on Tuesday was less than 30 degrees Celsius in Hyderabad, temperatures are expected to drop further, with the MET department forecasting heavy rains across Telangana for the next three days.
The forecast issued a heavy rainfall alert for multiple districts until June 13 and yellow alert for thunderstorms with lightning in almost all the locations of Telangana.
Based on the weeklong forecast, rains, thundershowers and gusty winds are expected to continue till June 17. The districts for which heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms alert is issued are Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, Jogulamba Gadwal Adilabad, KomaramBheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sirisilla, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy.
On June 13, the MET department has issued a yellow alert of heavy thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (40 kmph to 50 kmph) at locations in all the districts of Telangana.
