Heavy rain lashes Hyderabad overnight

Hyderabad: Due to the western disturbance, Hyderabad received heavy downpour on Saturday night. The area surrounding Kapra GHMC office recorded the highest rainfall of 116.8 mm, followed by Nacharam which witnessed 113.8 mm rainfall.
Several other areas, including Uppal, Saroornagar, Malkajgiri, Saidabad and Moula Ali also experienced upto 100 mm rainfall.
The night temperatures in the city have also dropped due to the heavy rainfall. The lowest minimum temperature of 17.1 degree Celsius was recorded at Serilingampally in the early hours of Saturday, which is at least two degrees less than normal.
According to the forecast by Telangana State Development Planning Society, most parts of the city are likely to receive heavy rainfall on Sunday as well. Whereas the central and eastern parts of the city, including Alwal, Begumpet, Amberpet, Hayathnagar, Kukatpally and Falaknuma, will receive moderate showers, on Monday.
Several districts of Telangana received heavy to very heavy rainfall on Saturday night. Districts including Nalgonda, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Rangareddy and Khammam received rainfall upto 117 mm. Yerkaram in Suryapet received the highest rainfall of 145.8 mm.
