Heavy rain to continue in Telangana; IMD issues warning for 15 districts

Hyderabad: The ongoing inclement weather conditions are expected to continue for another two to three days, with the Hyderabad MET department on Wednesday issuing a heavy rainfall warning for nearly 15 districts.
The heavy rainfall warning has been issued for Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Medak, and Kamareddy districts.
The IMD-Hyderabad has also maintained that thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning, are very likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of Telangana. Strong surface winds of up to 30-40 kmph are very likely to prevail at isolated places across all the districts.
On the second day, between Tuesday morning and Wednesday early morning, of the ongoing inclement weather conditions, people in Hyderabad continued to experience intermittent spells of drizzles and overcast conditions, while the districts, however, recorded heavy rainfall.
Garla at Mahabubabad received 85.3 mm of rainfall, followed by Burgampahad in Bhadradri, which received 72.3 mm, while Singareni Khammam recorded 62 mm.
In the Greater Hyderabad region, Shaikpet recorded a maximum of 43.8 mm, Banjara Hills 43 mm, Khairatabad 40 mm, and Gunfoundry and Malakpet received 37 mm of rainfall. Based on the IMD-Hyderabad forecast, light to moderate rain or thundershowers will continue to occur across all parts of Telangana till July 9.
