Hyderabad: Heavy rains and thunderstorms lashed Hyderabad on Monday evening, bringing traffic to a standstill and causing widespread water logging across the city.
The sudden, intense downpour left commuters stranded and submerged low-lying areas and causing water logging on major roads.
In Secunderabad, the busy evening commute was paralyzed as thoroughfares like Paradise, Marredpally, and Tarnaka were inundated. Pedestrians and two-wheeler riders were forced to seek shelter under flyovers and shop awnings to escape the deluge.

Intense showers were also reported from Rasulpura, Kapra, RP Road, SP Road, Patny crossroads, Habsiguda, Dr AS Rao Nagar, Neredmet, Malkajgiri, ECIL crossroads, and Alwal. Local authorities and traffic police were deployed to manage the chaos and clear waterlogged streets.
Meanwhile, weather tracker from Hyderabad, T Balaji (Telanganaweatherman on X) has issued a heavy rainfall warning.
“Dear people of Hyderabad. Its going to be dangerous thunderstorm for entire Hyderabad city. I am repeating it again. Please stay indoors. Massive cumulonimbus is developing. 50 mm of rainfall is expected in very short time. Please stay alert,” he posted on X.
