Heavy rains in Telangana
Till 8 am on Thursday, Chegunta in Medak recorded the highest rainfall of 227.5 mm, followed by Thatiannaram in Rangareddy.

Hyderabad: Heavy rains lashed several parts of Telangana State in the past 24 hours, and the weatherman has forecast more rains in the next couple of days.
In the last 24 hours, the State received average rainfall of 26.77 mm against the normal average rainfall of 9.9 mm. Nearly 20 mandals recorded more than 100 mm rainfall on Wednesday.
Till 8 am on Thursday, Chegunta in Medak recorded the highest rainfall of 227.5 mm, followed by Thatiannaram in Rangareddy, which received 216 mm and Bandlaguda in Uppal212.7 mm. All these three locations witnessed extremely heavy rainfall, while 13 other locations received very heavy rainfall ranging from 142 mm to 192 mm rainfall.
Between June 1 and 15, the State’s average rainfall was 369.7 mm against the average normal rainfall of 236.33 mm. As many as 17 districts recorded large excess rainfall (more than 60 per cent) while 13 districts recorded excess rainfall (ranging between 20 and 59 per cent) and three districts, including Mancheriyal, Nagarkurnool and Peddapalli recorded normal rainfall.
