Heavy rains lashed the erstwhile Karimnagar district, with Pochampalli recording 119.5 mm in 24 hours. Road connectivity was disrupted, and officials were instructed to take precautionary measures as rain alerts remain in place for the next three days.

KARIMNAGAR: Heavy rainfall was recorded across several parts of the erstwhile Karimnagar district in the past 24 hours, disrupting road connectivity and raising concerns in low-lying areas.
The highest rainfall of 119.5 mm was registered at Pochampalli in Manakondur mandal, followed by Srirampur in Peddapalli with 105.3 mm, Ramagiri 88.8 mm, Karimnagar 86.5 mm, Manthani Mutharam 84 mm, and Akenapalli 81.6 mm.
Road connectivity between Paruvelli and Ganneruvaram was disrupted after heavy flow of rainwater submerged a low-level culvert.
Satavahana Urban Development Authority (SUDA) Chairman Komatireddy Narender Reddy visited low-lying areas in Karimnagar town on Wednesday morning. In view of the rain alert for the next three days, he instructed officials to take precautionary measures to prevent inundation.
