Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely in parts of Telangana for next 24 hours: IMD Hyderabad

Issues orange alert for Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nizamabad and Jagtial districts; maximum temperatures to be less than 36 degrees Celsius

Hyderabad: Several districts of Telangana are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds for the next 24 hours.

The India Meteorological Department – Hyderabad on Thursday issued an orange alert of heavy to very heavy rainfall for Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nizamabad and Jagtial districts.


The forecast said widespread heavy rains are also expected to take place in almost all the districts. As a result of the anticipated rains, between May 23 and 26, the maximum temperatures in Hyderabad and elsewhere in the districts will be less than 36 degrees Celsius.

The Met Department has indicated that thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds will continue till May 29.
