Rajanna-Sircilla: Endowment Minister A Indrakaran Reddy informed to provide helicopter services to transport devotees for a three-day annual Maha Shivaratri Jatara to be started from Tuesday in Vemulawada.

Like previous year, helicopter services would also be placed for the convenience of devotees. Pilgrims who wanted to travel from Hyderabad could avail the facility, Minister informed while reviewing Jatara arrangements with officials in Vemulawada on Tuesday.

Keeping previous year’s experiences in the mind, officials should work hard for the success and peaceful completion of jatara. Asking the devotees to have a darshan of deity by following Covid norms, he informed that there was no permission for pilgrims to have holy dip in dharma gundam (temple tank) in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic. In an alternative arrangement, showers were arranged for bathing.

Since about 1 lakh devotees are expected to take part in jatara every day, officials should make all necessary arrangements to fulfill the needs of pilgrims.

There was a possibility of spreading communicable diseases since a hung number of people are going to throng. So, officials should focus on sanitation and carryout spraying frequently.
Besides setting up medical camps along with doctors and paramedical staff, ambulances should also be kept ready, the Minister instructed and added that there should not be any shortage for drinking water and power cuts.

He also instructed officials to take fire safety measures to avoid any fire accidents. Indrakaran Reddy wanted the police officials to make tight security arrangements.

Collector D Krishna Bhaskar informed the Minister that 90,000 face masks and sanitizers were made available to check the spread of coronavirus. 25 medical camps have been established to provide first aid pilgrims.

Superintendent of Police, Rahul Hedge informed that tight security arrangements have been made with 2,000 police personnel. A special help desk was also established, he said.

Additional Collector B Satyaprasad, Assistant Collector Rizwan Basha Shaik, RDO Srinivasa Rao, temple Executive Officer Krishnaprasad, Municipal Commissioner Shyam Sunder Rao and others participated in the review meeting.
