Hyderabad: The Rehabilitation and Home Care Centre run by Helping Hand Foundation (HHF) has provided long term relief and rehabilitation facilities to 100 patients who were struggling to recover from health complications of Covid-19, a press release said.

The Rehab and Home Care Centre, a collaborative effort of HHF and US-based charity organisation SEED, has enabled Covid-19 positive patients to fully recover from their long term ailments. Out of 100, about 50 patients were for tracheostomy, 20 received post Covid rehab and 30 patients received neuro and orthopaedic rehabilitation facilities.

A majority of the patients, even after testing negative for Covid, needed rehabilitation support like oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, Yoga and diet, which saw a success rate of 98 per cent, as almost all of the individuals recovered fully. Many patients also had lung tissue damage or pulmonary fibrosis and needed oxygen therapy along with respiratory physiotherapy, Yoga sessions and counselling, after they tested Covid negative.

The facility run on non-profit basis provides round the clock support of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, nutritionists, bed side care giver and other support staff needed to maintain hygiene of the facility, founder of HHF, Mujtaba Hasan Askari said.
