Hyderabad: A two judge panel of the Telangana High Court comprising Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice A Rajashekar Reddy dismissed a batch of writ pleas seeking direction for implementing superannuation age 61 since July 2017. In March, 2021 the superannuation age of State government employees in Telangana has been enhanced to 61 years. Government employees, teachers across the state have filed the cases contending that the superannuation age should be implemented from July 2017 and they should be reinstated in service. However the court upheld that the government order which implemented enhanced age from March 2021 and dismissed the cases.

Domestic Violence
Justice B Vijayasen Reddy on Friday wondered how a pending offence of domestic violence case makes a person most wanted criminal. If that was the case all the persons against whom 498-A IPC cases were pending would be branded as most wanted criminals. The judge directed the police to remove the name of petitioner from the ‘Most Wanted Criminal’ list. The petitioner challenged the action of authorities in including his name as most wanted criminal in the Crime Investigation Department list. The counsel for the petitioner complained that the petitioner was falsely implicated in the domestic violence case and that the complainant’s father influenced the police to add the petitioner’s name in the list. He told the court that petitioner lost his job in a multinational company and that he was now unable find a job in other companies. The judge disapproved the behaviour of police and held such action was arbitrary and unreasonable. He then passed interim order for removal of petitioner name from list and directed the police to file its counter.

Assigned land case
Justice B Vijayasen Reddy of the Telangana High Court on Friday stayed the proceedings of the Commissioner of National Commission for Scheduled Castes. The commission proceeding directed the revenue authorities in Bachupally to restore 32 acres of land to the assignees. The revenue department filed this case challenging the commission proceeding. It said, the assignees of the land had illegally sold the land to third parties. Thereafter, the State Government took over the land and allotted it to Rajiv Swagruha Corporation limited for construction of houses. Dealing with application filed by the original assignees the commission has passed the said order. The panel adjourned the case for counter of the Commission.
