Hyderabad : Justice Pulla Karthik of the Telangana High Court on Tuesday granted interim suspension of proceedings issued under Section 22-A of the Registration Act, 1908, whereby lands belonging to former Telangana High Court Judge Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili (Retd) and another petitioner were included in the prohibited properties list.
The interim order was passed in a writ petition challenging a communication dated November 6, 2025, issued by the District Collector, Ranga Reddy, notifying Ac.3.26 guntas in Survey No.103/45AA and Ac.1.04 guntas in Survey No.103/45E, situated at Gubbadi village in Shamshabad Mandal, under the prohibited properties category.
The petitioners contended that the inclusion of their lands under Section 22-A of the Registration Act was illegal, arbitrary and violative of their constitutional rights. They sought quashing of the proceedings, deletion of the lands from the prohibited properties list and issuance of Pattadar Passbooks under the Bhu Bharathi (Record of Rights in Land) Act, 2025.
Upon hearing the matter, Justice Pulla Karthik granted interim suspension of the impugned proceedings in so far as they relate to the petitioners’ lands and directed notice to the respondents.
