Hyderabad: The high-end Cath lab, which was launched a month ago at Osmania General Hospital (OGH) with a cost of Rs 7 crore, has started yielding positive results for poor patients.
Since the launch of the high-end equipment, OGH cardiologists have conducted 50 coronary angiograms, took-up 30 stent procedures and three fluoroscopy procedures, which helps surgeons see the blood flow through coronary arteries and evaluate the presence of blocks in them.
Apart from cardiology, the OGH orthopedic team has conducted two knee replacement surgeries and four joint replacement surgeries for free of cost to needy patients in Telangana.
Health Minister, T Harish Rao on Monday congratulated the cardiology and orthopedic teams for taking-up such procedures for free of cost. “It is the dream of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to ensure poor patients in Telangana have access to high-end corporate health care services in Government hospitals. I must congratulate the OGH doctors for taking-up the procedures,” Harish Rao said.
